ENRICH (Enhancing Resources and Increasing Capacities of Poor Households towards Elimination of their Poverty) is Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation’s (PKSF) multifaceted flagship program on poverty eradication at the household level. Since 2018, Shakti Foundation has been working as one of PKSF's partner organizations in the Majidpur Union of Titas Upazilla in the Cumilla District.

Under this program, our organization has been conducting socio-economic activities related to education, skills training, health services, food security and nutrition, asset creation, climate change adaptation and awareness raising in the target area. The objective is to increase income and quality of life as well as champion sustainability in the area. A total of 69 staff including program, health & teachers are serving the 37,549 residents of this area.

ENRICH Homes

Our aim is to convert each household within the Union into an ENRICH home where the homestead land can be best utilized for income generating purposes such as vegetable and/or fruit gardening, spice cultivation, livestock rearing, and poultry farming. In addition, each ENRICH home is equipped with a sanitary latrine and a tube well to safeguard hygiene and prevent the spread of diseases.

  • Education Assistance Center

31 education-assistance centers provide afterschool tuitions for primary school students (Kindergarten, Class I & Class II) on a daily basis. These tuitions focus on morality, general knowledge, Bangladeshi culture and historical events in order to improve the cognition of these young minds and provide them with a practical worldview.

  • Healthcare

Quality and free of cost healthcare is provided to our target community through:

Specialized Health Camps comprising renowned doctors from the fields of internal medicine, oncology, gynecology, ENT and ophthalmology

Mobile Medical Teams that provide basic treatment and free medicines, alongside holding courtyard sessions to inform communities about hygiene and nutrition.

Shakti health inspectors who visit each one of the 7,361 households in the Union on a regular basis to distribute free medicine and spread awareness

  • Youth Development & Senior Citizen Program

Under this initiative, the youth in our target community are actively engaged in skills development and community service. They work closely with the Senior Citizen Committee to jointly organize sports and cultural programs every year. Additionally, Shakti Foundation provides financial (monetary allowance, burial assistance etc.) and non-financial (walking sticks and wheelchairs) support to the senior citizens of the area.
